Are Humans Really Beings of Light?

This is a fascinating article! I'm not a scientist so I don't understand everything in it, but the it was awesome in congruence with the D&C.

"Dr. Popp exclaims, 'We now know, today, that man is essentially a being of light.'"

Anti-war Stance Is Right, Not Left

"Using military force to right the wrongs in other countries and cultures dissimilar to our own is sure to backfire, even if the intent is sincere. As John Quincy Adams correctly observed: “America goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.... She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom.”

Countries that mind their own business are less likely to be attacked than those that intervene in other countries’ affairs, particularly when those interventions come to be viewed as unwanted occupations."

Better speaker than Obama - and on our side (6min)

From maseporfolio.blogspot.com

"Spain has just had its debt outlook lowered by Standard and Poor’s. In January, Spain’s debt rating was lowered from AAA to AA+. Now, Spain’s debt outlook has been reduced from “stable” to “negative”. The outlook: Spain is now expected to experience a “more pronounced and persistent deterioration” in its budget and a “more prolonged period of economic weakness,” than it expected at the start of the year. Enough said.

Spain now joins Dubai and Greece in the headlines that include the label “sovereign debt.” And, the guess is that this list is going to grow in the upcoming weeks and months."

The 7 foods experts won't eat

"A recent comprehensive study conducted by the USDA and researchers from Clemson University found that compared with corn-fed beef, grass-fed beef is higher in beta-carotene, vitamin E, omega-3s, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), calcium, magnesium, and potassium; lower in inflammatory omega-6s; and lower in saturated fats that have been linked to heart disease. "We need to respect the fact that cows are herbivores, and that does not mean feeding them corn and chicken manure," says Salatin.

The solution: Buy grass-fed beef, which can be found at specialty grocers, farmers' markets, and nationally at Whole Foods. It's usually labeled because it demands a premium, but if you don't see it, ask your butcher."

Jim Willie: The Golden Jackass

"The rise in gold pre-sages a currency collapse, led by the USDollar. Gold vaults at commodity exchanges in New York and especially London are being drained by delivery demands. Gold demand is skyrocketing, as distrust for the USDollar is broadening and revolt against the US$ is deepening. The quintessential finance war is between the United States and China, with the battlefield being the US$ and Gold. The race over the $1000 price level came in the face of mammoth shorting by the same Usual Suspects on Wall Street, which do so with paper, but without the required collateral. The gold market is poised for a surprise upward move from a basic broken condition, as the Powerz are losing control. It would be a joy to watch except for the extreme hardship due to come to the betrayed American people."

Linda Brady Traynham from Whiskey & Gunpowder.com

"Our world is a-swirl with forces building hurricane speed, each having an impact on the others. The concatenation of instability in the bond and stock markets, housing and commercial real estate, the mushroom cloud of increased “money” supply, job losses developing in the auto and tobacco industries due to recent legislation, the Chinese and Japanese at least eying manipulating our currency or replacing the dollar as the standard against which other currencies float, and the possibility that the government is going to appropriate the health industry are just some of the warning signs that indicate it is time to head for the storm cellars with the kiddies, the livestock, a kerosene lantern, a good book, and an enormous picnic lunch."

mercola.com has good information

"Study after study keeps coming to the same conclusion: Flu vaccines DO NOT WORK, and in many cases do more harm than good.

In fact, before the CDC advocated vaccinating children under the age of five, the number of children dying from the flu was very low, and on the decline. Then, in 2003, just after children aged five and under started getting vaccinated, the number of flu deaths skyrocketed."

Hmmm . . .

"Cases of autism in the U.S. have now increased by over 2700 per cent since 1991, which is when vaccines for children doubled, and the number of immunizations is only increasing. Just one in 2,500 children were diagnosed with autism before 1991, whereas one in 91 children now have the disease, up from one in 150 just six years ago."

Interesting article on why it's hard to change belief

"Democracy is based on the assumption that people are rational beings who factually examine arguments and are not easily manipulated. Studies are not finding this to be the case. In my own experience in scholarship, public policy, and journalism, I have learned that everyone from professors to high school dropouts has difficulty with facts and analyses that do not fit with what they already believe. The notion that "we are not afraid to follow the truth wherever it may lead" is an extremely romantic and idealistic notion. I have seldom experienced open minds even in academic discourse or in the highest levels of government. Among the public at large, the ability to follow the truth wherever it may lead is almost non-existent."

Interview with Kurt Sonnenfeld, 9/11 FEMA Videographer

"at this point in history, many people are too credulous to whatever “authority” tells them and too willing to follow. People in a state of shock seek guidance. People who are afraid are manipulable. And being able to manipulate the masses results in unimaginable benefits to a lot of very rich and very powerful people. War is incredibly expensive, but the money has to go somewhere. War is very profitable for the very few. And somehow their sons always end up in Washington DC, making the decisions and writing the budgets, while the sons of the poor and the poorly-connected always end up on the enemy lines, taking their orders and fighting their battles . . . and it will continue to be so until the masses wake up, recuperate their skepticism and demand accountability. Wars (and false pretexts for war) will not cease until the people realize the true motive of war and stop believing “official” explanations."

Waterboard an A-rab for Jesus

Laurence M. Vance:

"It is also no surprise that a new survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press shows that of four major religious traditions in the United States (white evangelical Protestant, white non-Hispanic Catholic, white mainline Protestant, and unaffiliated), white evangelical Protestants are more likely to believe that the use of torture against suspected terrorists can often or sometimes be justified. In fact, the more often people attended church, the more likely they were to justify torture.

A similar poll commissioned last year by Faith in Public Life and Mercer University reported that almost 60 percent of Southern evangelicals believed that torture was often or sometimes justified.

When the Spanish did it, it was torture. When the Japanese did it, it was torture. When the Germans did it, it was torture. When the Khmer Rouge did it, it was torture. But when waterboarding was done by Americans under a Republican administration, it suddenly became an "enhanced interrogation technique."

Book of Mormon Reading:

This morning I was reading in Helaman, chapter 8:

1 And now it came to pass that when Nephi had said these words, behold, there were men who were judges, who also belonged to the secret band of Gadianton, and they were angry, and they cried out against him, saying unto the people: Why do ye not seize upon this man and bring him forth, that he may be condemned according to the crime which he has done?
2 Why seest thou this man, and hearest him revile against this people and against our law?

I immediately began to think of those "judges" (media pundits, et al) who point the finger at those who speak out against wickedness in government. Even members of the church sometimes get caught up in the "anti-American" name calling, not necessarily defining as criminal, but occasionally mocking with the term "conspiracy nuts." Unfortunately, decay is usually manifest by the corruption of moral law, in the case of the United States that would be the Constitution. Helaman continues:

3 For behold, Nephi had spoken unto them concerning the corruptness of their law . . .
4 And those judges were angry with him because he spake plainly unto them concerning their secret works of darkness . . .
5 Therefore they did cry unto the people, saying: Why do you suffer this man to revile against us? For behold he doth condemn all this people, even unto destruction;

As the established gangs of Gadianton that control our congress grow more powerful, their attempts to silence critics will increase. Let's not help them by fearing to speak out.

Darryl Robert Schoon

"The reason why pundits are popular is not because they tell the truth. Pundits are popular because they tell people what they want to hear, the truth not withstanding. The unpleasant truth is that the truth when unpleasant has never been popular.
In the past, I would have laid the cause of America’s ignorance of economic issues at the foot of corporate and government interests who gain the most in today’s corrupt environment. But the truth is the present state of ignorance and corruption could not have occurred without the abiding and willing denial of the America people.
Americans themselves have chosen denial, sound bites and slogans over substantive discourse and understanding. While in the short term it has been easier to do than the alternative, i.e. to think, in the long term it will prove fatal."

Value of Money - from dollardaze.org

The British Pound originally represented one troy pound of sterling silver back in 1560. Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver and there are 12 troy ounces in a troy pound. Elizabeth I and her advisor Sir Thomas Gresham (of Gresham's Law fame) established the new currency to bring about order created by the "Great Debasement" of 1543-51 when Henry VIII sought to finance his costly wars with both France and Scotland.
Paper banknotes were issued shortly after the establishment of the Bank of England in 1694. As of Feb 23, 2007 it takes 86.2 GBP to purchase that same troy pound of sterling silver - a loss of 98.8%

Under the US Mint Act of 1792, the dollar was pegged at 24.75 grains of gold. There are 480 grains in a troy ounce. Thus it took 19.4 US dollars to purchase a single troy ounce of gold. As of Feb 23, 2007 it takes nearly 863 US dollar to purchase that same troy ounce of gold, representing a 97.8% drop in value.

Can you guess I'm a history major?

"if you don’t know your history, you don’t know what you are; you don’t know who you are. Personally, if you don’t know your history, you have amnesia. Nationally, if you don’t know it, you are no longer a nation. You are people milling about in a wide spot in the road. You have no cohesion. You are disunited and easily conquered."
